6/21/15 VERNON, NY – On location today to follow the progress of Team Crawford members ZANNA BLU and LOCK DOWN LINDY in the $255,325 Empire Breeders Classic for three year old fillies and FREEDOMFORMYSOUL in the $31,050 NYSS 3 year old colt pace at Vernon Downs Racetrack and Casino. Also we will be following Crawford Alumn CRAZYWOW in the $255,325 Empire Breeders Classic Final for three year old trotting colts.
1:15 p.m. –> 74 degrees with a chance of rain however the sun has started to shine and the track condition is fast.
1:35 p.m. –> FREEDOMFORMYSOUL warming up for trainer Nancy Johansson.
1:45 p.m. –> Both ZANNA BLU and LOCKDOWNLINDY take to the track for there respective trainers and complete warmups. Sun continues to shine as we close in on our first contest of the day.

2:50 p.m. –> FREEDOMFORMYSOUL takes the track.

Off the gate FREEDOMFORMYSOUL leaves hard for driver Tim Tetrick but bobbles and settles for tucking into fourth in a first quarter of 26.2. Field stays settled till just past the half when FREEDOMFORMYSOUL feels the pace is to slow (55.3 half 29.1 2nd quarter) and tips coming first up. FREEDOMFORMYSOUL pulls even with the leader after tripping the 3/4 timer in 1:23.1 and heads for home. Field comes a strong last quarter and FREEDOMFORMYSOUL battles tough to hang in there for 4th.

As the fillies leave the gate ZANNA BLU goes right to the front and sets the tempo of the race with a first quarter of 28.0.LOCK DOWN LINDY settles in 4th for driver Tim Tetrick and allows the early dust to settle.

Just past the quarter ZANNA BLU relinquishes the lead and tucks in behind Jeff Gregory and Barn Doll as they cross the half in 56.2. LOCK DOWN LINDY continues to watch the melay at the front and bide her time. They hit the 3/4 pole in 1.24.0 and turn for home. LOCK DOWN LINDY moves to the center of the track and moves past the balance of the field finishing strong for second as they cross the line in 1.52.1.

As the gate leaves CRAZY WOW shows early that he wants no part of seeing how things may unfold as he pushes to the front just past the quarter that went in 26.4. From that point on the race was a formality as CRAZY WOW cut fractions of 55.3,1:23.3 and crossed the wire in a track record 1:51.1.
